Comments and questions

Can you compare the advantages of vented and sealed housings?

Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids come with closed housings for improved sound quality. There are pros and cons to using vented housings and everyone has different needs.  Please contact our Sony OTC Hear team for assistance.

Can they be used to answer calls and listen to music from the phone?

Good question! Due to their small size, the Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids do not have Bluetooth. You cannot stream calls or music. Sony CRE-E10 is a great option for anyone looking for iOS streaming features

Doesn't the C20 detect and amplify sudden, loud noises like gunshots?

Sony OTC hearing aids automatically analyze, adjust, and optimize sounds based on your environment. Our devices provide high-quality noise reduction to cope with noisy environments, including sudden, loud noises.

Please note that our noise reduction is not active noise cancellation and does not serve as hearing protection against dangerous noise levels.

How do the C20 and E10 compare? Can you make a comparison chart or something? If you were to buy a set and didn't care if it was invisible or not... which would you choose?

Sony OTC hearing aids. Everyone has different individual needs. The E10 streams to iOS devices and has an additional noise management feature in the Sony Hearing Control app.  The C20 is sleek and discreet for those looking for a small rechargeable option. Both have excellent battery life, are rechargeable, and have an IP68 rating.

The Sony C20 is a Samsung S23 Ultra. many reviews say it really only works with the Apple iPhone?

The Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids can be set up and programmed on iPhones/iPads running iOS 15 and above and Android devices running OS 11 and above.

I see you sell vented cases for the CR20 in different sizes. Do you have a mixed pack of vented cases - a pack with different vented sizes in one pack? I need different sizes for each ear.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding vented cases for your Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids. We do not currently sell mixed packs of our cases; each pack contains the same size.

Do these hearing aids mask tinnitus?

Sony OTC hearing aids are not intended to relieve tinnitus. It may be helpful to contact a hearing care professional to explore your options.

HFA-FOG. This model has a balance of 44 dB. It's in the specifications. What does this mean?

This is a common measurement for hearing aid testing in a lab. 44 dB is the average gain when the hearing aid volume is turned up to maximum.

I have been using the E10 for 2 years now and then ordered a pair of C10s to use as a second pair. When I tried to pair them, the app couldn't handle pairing with both at the same time and I had to return them. Has this feature been added to the app?

Sony OTC hearing aids.  The Sony Hearing Control app can only save settings for one pair of hearing aids. If you have the CRE-C10 and CRE-E10, it is recommended that you set them up on separate Sony accounts and on separate devices to avoid any programming issues. The same goes for the CRE-C20.

The Amazon site states that the CRE-C20 has two microphones in each device. The specifications here state that there is only one microphone per device. Which is correct?

The Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids have one microphone on each hearing aid. The Sony CRE-E10 OTC hearing aids have two microphones on each hearing aid. This information has been updated on Amazon to reflect the above.
